Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Summary
Manage all aspects of Prairie Playland Rides and Games, oversee Park Services to include the contracted restroom cleaning services, and assist in Operations Department as needed.

Required Schedule

Every weekend based on business demands from 8:30am -7pm. Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8:30-5.  Business needs may require additional days and extended hours.

Required Education/Experience

Experience with management in a theme park or FEC environment.  High school diploma.  Certification from IAAPA, NAARSO or AIMS preferred.


Essential Functions
  • Manage all aspects of the Prairie Playland amusement area to include profit and loss responsibility and reporting.
  • Ability to lead and develop the Prairie Playland leadership group.
  • Ability to train and manage approximately 35 rides and games employees.
  • Monitor maintenance and inspections of the rides.
  • Manage and oversee the games operations to include the profitability of the games program to include inventory of prize stock. 
  • Continuously monitor ride operations for safety and guest satisfaction. 
  • Establish and develop a safety focused culture across the rides and games department.
  • Assist with events and promotions as needed. 
  • Use employee management system for payroll and coaching processes. 
  • Participate in training and continuing education related to amusement rides and attractions.
  • Manage Park Services to include weekend cleaning crews, general market cleanliness, as well as overseeing our contracted restroom cleaning service.
Competencies
Train, coach and motivate employees.  Excellent guest service skills.  Read and interpret ride manufacture manuals and laws and regulations.  Understanding of ASTM standards relating to amusement ride operations.  Ability to conduct inventory of prize stock and interpret results.  Basic understanding of POS systems and cash control.  Ability to analyze business demands and weather to make decisions on opening and closing rides and games operations.  Understand Traders Village’s business model, goals, profit strategies, and be responsible for making decisions related to management of weekend operations.  Ability to analyze reports and apply them to management of rides and games. Oversight of buyouts and outside sales.


Work Environment
Weekend only amusement park operations with a 5 day work week, days off are typically Wednesday and Thursday. Work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical Demands
Physical job involving standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, reach overhead, squat.
